AMC Entertainment Holdings (NYSE:AMC) is having nearly as good a run as GameStop (NYSE:GME), with shares of the movie theater operator up 277% last week (compared to a 325% gain for GameStop). But one analyst says it's all going to end badly because AMC isn't worth more than $1 a share.

MKM Partners analyst Eric Handler downgraded its stock to sell from neutral today and set a price target of just a buck per share, some 92% lower than where it closed last Friday. However, the stock was up 6% as of 10:45 a.m. EST today.

It's not surprising Wall Street has such a dour outlook on the world's biggest theater operator. The massive rise in AMC's stock is not based on the underlying fundamentals of its business, but rather a short squeeze designed to inflict the most pain possible on short-sellers.

Born of the same momentum that drove GameStop higher, traders on Reddit noticed the theater operator's stock was heavily shorted, meaning investors were betting the stock price would fall. At one point, some 80% of stock available for trading was sold short. Just as they did with the video game retailer, Reddit traders piled into the stock, buying shares and options contracts that forced the stock price higher, squeezing the shorts.

Brokerages responded by limiting or preventing investors from trading in these volatile issues, and while most bans on buying were reversed, the popular mobile trading platform Robinhood just announced it was imposing limits on the number of shares and options contracts investors could buy. 

While it is limiting GameStop investors to just one share and five contracts total, AMC traders can buy only 10 shares and 10 options contracts.

The theater chain raised nearly $1 billion in new financing last week, which should allow it to survive at least through 2021, also suggesting its stock might be worth more than $1 -- though perhaps not much more.

Dear editor,

The Singing Bridge is both beautiful and functional, but it is also a memorial to a horrific part of our history. Marshall Boston (1894) and John Maxey (1909), both African American, were lynched from its trestles by angry mobs of white citizens. This happened during a time of overt racial terrorism throughout our country that was designed to further entrench the racial caste system and white supremacy. It’s part of the history of Frankfort and of the Singing Bridge.

Given the events of Jan. 6 in Washington, D.C., it is even more crucial for all of us to learn about and from our history. Our democracy depends on it. We do ourselves a disservice if we don’t acknowledge the full history of the Singing Bridge.

Apple has launched a new Chrome extension to help iCloud users remember their passwords. The new iCloud Passwords tool will sync passwords between the Safari and Chrome web browsers.

“iCloud Passwords is a Chrome extension for Windows users that allows you to use the same strong Safari passwords you create on your iPhone, iPad or Mac when visiting websites in Chrome on your Windows PC,” the Chrome web store explains. “iCloud Passwords also saves any new passwords you create in Chrome to your iCloud Keychain so that they are also available on your Apple devices.”

Users of iCloud for Windows will now see a new “Passwords” section under the list of available services (providing they have updated to version 12.0). By then clicking “Apply,” they will be redirected to download the new Chrome extension.

Password protected

Once the iCloud Passwords extension is running, Chrome users will gain access to the passwords that they have created, had automatically generated, or saved in Safari for macOS or iOS. The feature also works reciprocally, with any passwords stored in Chrome also becoming available on iPhone, iPad, and other Apple devices.

The new extension becomes part of a relatively small group of tools that Apple offers on the Windows ecosystem. Before the launch of iCloud Passwords, Apple’s only Windows solutions of note, besides iTunes, were iCloud Bookmarks for older PCs, and Apple TV+ for Xbox users.

Password management remains a hot topic in the security sector, however, particularly as a huge number of data leaks still occur due to inadequate password protection. The new iCloud sync tool should help prevent password fatigue for Chrome users, encouraging them to use stronger credentials.

New Kansas Senator Dr. Roger Marshall has argued that the Impeachment and upcoming trial of Donald J. Trump is somehow "Unconstitutional" because the accused is no longer in office.

This situation has happened before; corrupt Sec. of War William Belknap resigned office after having been impeached by the House of Representatives in 1876. His actions and the subsequent impeachment occurred while he was in office so a Senate trial occurred with the possible outcome that then private-citizen Mr. Belknap would never be allowed to hold office again, as is described in Article 1, Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution. .."and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States".

Senator Marshall may be thinking of the Constitution of some country other than The United States of America, or he has gone Old School and used White-Out Fluid on his personal pocket Edition of the text, or most likely, is being deliberately obtuse by not reading to the end of the sentence.

Following his suggestion to ignore the events leading to and including January 6 is to ask for more attempts to overthrow the government,  continued use of political violence and to forgive flat-out murder.

The Senator Dr. would have us forget about The Rule of Law, about elections and democratic government for the sake of "lowering the temperature." "Take two aspirin and forget about it" is the opposite of what we require, Doctor Marshall.

Forget Apple Watch 7: This detachable Samsung Galaxy Watch design is stunning - Tom's Guide

The Apple Watch 7 will need to blow us away in order to make us forget about these gorgeous Samsung Galaxy Watch renders. A group of concept artists just completely redesigned one of the best smartwatches with a curved display and detachable watch face.

Yanko Design (via T3) shared the series of Samsung Galaxy Watch renders, which look nothing like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 that released last year. Instead, this hypothetical evolution features a rectangular, arched screen that's optimized for both user immersion and the slew of straps the designers conjured up.

Seriously, we can gloss over the curved screen (the Nubia Watch already proved it's possible in a wearable format.) Instead, it's the rendered watch bands we can't stop thinking about.

According to Yanko Design, the component "locks into the different watch bands by either sliding into laser-cut, metal incisions, or slipping into adhesive silicone slots." Some of the imagined straps look classically sporty, complete with a silicone finish and simple clasp.

Other strap designs lean toward high-fashion. We're especially attracted to this one that looks like a bangle bracelet, but magnetically attaches to the watch's housing on either side. The design shows the watch worn on the discreet, inner portion of the wrist.

For those who like to switch out their smartwatch straps to match their setting or activity, this version of the Galaxy Watch is drool-worthy. Of course, it's only concept art, but we can hope Samsung is taking notes. 

In reality, the next Galaxy Watch, which is expected to offer blood glucose monitoring and other upgrades to challenge the Apple Watch 7, will still don a circular display. We'd be devastated if the company ditched the rotating bezel, after all. But in a few years we could see a wearable like the one from Yanko Designs gaining traction. 

Besides, it's not all that different from the best fitness trackers from brands like Fitbit right now.
