Salina, N.Y. — Here’s a sure sign that winter is coming: The speed limit on the Onondaga Lake Park has dropped.
The speed limit on the parkway has been lowered from 55 mph to 45 mph, the state Department of Transportation announced Monday. It’s an annual change, one state officials make to the lakeside road — which is often plagued by blowing snow and slippery roads during the winter — safer for drivers.
The speed limit will go back up to 55 mph on April 1.
