THINK SMALL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES

Usually this time of year, we are busy planning our events to help promote Small Business Saturday and picking a few local downtown areas to spotlight. Like so many things this year, it’s not business as usual. It is, however, more important than ever for us as ‘small business champions’ to get the message out about shopping and supporting local small businesses during the busiest time of year for retailers and restaurants. Visiting quaint downtowns is one of the great things about living in New Hampshire. For that quality of life to continue, we need to show them our collective support. Join us to hear about why you should think about spending some of your holiday spending dollars with some of our wonderful small NH retailers and hear about what some NH small business communities are doing to get your business this season.

Re: Unintended Death Investigation in Bicentennial Square, 10/25/20

Has this person been publicly identified? What about cause of death?

I am concerned that this may have been someone I know.

I see from the Windmill Restaurant FB page that the Free Thanksgiving Dinner is still happening this month. It will be an outdoor pick-up with tables at the building entry. See the FB page for more details.

I have read about the Carmelite Monastery on Pleasant Street being sold by the Bishop. I had a long talk with Fr. Ray at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church who sent me a letter from the Carmelite Order about this. I was informed the Bishop of Manchester does NOT have any control over this property. The Order of Carmelites does have control. They wrote a letter to the Catholic community stating there are 8 sisters who are in their 80's and are in need of care. They are unable to keep the property up to its usual high standard. Thus, the Carmelite Order is looking for the future of this location and a new place for the sisters who have devoted their lives to God. Nothing is concrete, but it is an ongoing discussion. I have a copy of Fr Rich's letter and I am sure Fr Rich at Christ the King, should be aware as well. I hope this will clear up confusion.

Anyone know what’s happening on Warren Street? I’m at Peters Images right now and there’s about three fire trucks/ambulances on the side of the road, kinda in front of Warren Street Architects

Anyone know what all the construction is on Manchester St and over the summer on Airport Rd? Updating gas lines maybe?

I was in Shaw's on Loudon Rd. yesterday and while most people were masked, there was a man and his pre-teen children who were maskless and seemed to be flouting it, and the kids were zipping from aisle to aisle so they were hard to avoid. Numerous people were upset and the man brushed off an elderly woman who gently reminded him of the mask ordinance and the reasons for it. I discussed my concern with cashiers and the manager, and was told that they would not get involved in "a political issue." Being an elder, I would like to be able to shop for food without people literally running around. Should I have called the police? Left my filled cart there and walked out? Confronted a young 6'6" guy about his non-compliance?

FYI for everyone there is a Trump Rally in front of the Capitol. Bashing the president elect Joe Biden.
