The majority of Californians live in homes that rely on natural gas. It's used to heat our homes, warm the water that comes out of our showers and faucets and to power our stoves.

The San Diego Union-Tribune reporter Joshua Emerson Smith joined Midday Edition on Tuesday to discuss how city leaders and gas companies are reacting to the call for change.
