Forget Roses, What Mom Really Wants For Mother’s Day Is Rosé - Forbes

forget.indah.link

Forget giving mom a dozen roses. What mom really wants is a dozen bottles of rosé. Here are more than a dozen wines with bouquets fine enough that she won’t need flowers.

JNSQ 2019 Rosé Cru ($18.00/375 ml; $29/750 ml) Of all the rosés around, this is the only one that comes in a floral-like bottle. The bottles - both small and big - come with a distinctive white rose as a stopper and an elegant, vase-like bottle. “The JNSQ Rosé Cru bottle was inspired by the shape and artistry of classic perfume bottles, and was designed and manufactured by expert glassmakers in France,” says Clarence Chia, senior vice president of marketing for JNSQ, Justin and Landmark Vineyards . “Long after the wine inside has been enjoyed, the bottle also becomes a keepsake that can be used for displaying olive oils, bath salts, or even a bouquet of flowers.”

Yes Way Rosé ($14.99) What began as an Instagram account celebrating their shared love of French rosé eventually became Yes Way Rosé, the fourth best-selling French rosé in America. Lifelong friends Erica Blumenthal and Nikki Huganir began their French rosé as a lifestyle brand about this pink wine…and eventually became winemakers. They also make the number one canned French rosé, as well as a sparkling version.

Out East Rosé ($24.99) This Provençal rosé is sustainably created and, in fact, boasts a Level 3 HVE Sustainability Certification from the French Ministry of Agriculture. It also happens to be delicious. Out East, which is a lifestyle wine brand based in New York, partners with sustainable and contemporary wines. It’s what Cori Lee Seaberg, co-founder, will be drinking on Sunday. "This year Mother’s Day takes on a whole new meaning for me as I recently became a mother myself,” she says. “We'll be spending the day with my daughter enjoying the simple things like a walk on the beach and later on with a celebratory toast with my husband enjoying a glass of Out East Rosé together.”

MORE FOR YOU

Korbel California Champagne  Brut Rosé ($13) is a gorgeous bottle of bubbly that is absolutely perfect for brunching with Mom. Pinot noir, gamay, sangiovese and chenin blanc grapes blend together in a delicious combination. Belinda Chang featured Korbel to kick off her brunch season, pairing this rosé with delicacies from the Publican in Chicago. Check out her virtual brunch and nab a brunch box and some wines for Mom.

Ram’s Gate ($38) Ram’s Gate Sonoma Coast rosé is a blend of Grenache, Pinot Noir and Syrah grapes, and it was aged for five months in neutral barrels. In past years, the Grenache served as a background grape, but this year’s release boasts a bounty, with a whopping 61 percent of the blend. Taylr Behnam Cuneo, managing director for this Sonoma County winery, is a mom herself, who enjoys hiking the hills with her husband and daughter.

Kindred Rosé ($35) Made from Pinot Noir grapes picked from a single vineyard in the Sonoma Coast, this brand new rosé was born of a friendship. Kevin James met Mike and Leah Smith at a summer party 15 years ago. “Kindred was created to celebrate that unexplainable connection you have with your deepest friends,” James says. Or, it can also celebrate that connection you have with your mom. Only 165 cases of this wine have been bottled.

Perrier-Jouët ($305) If you’re looking to indulge your mother, then look no further than Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque rosé. This limited quantity rosé champagne is crafted only in exceptional years. The delicate floral motif on the bottle hints at the exceptional aromas inside. If the Belle Epoque rosé is outside of your budget, consider the Blazon rosé ($80), which is also quite, quite delightful. This rosé actually is the exception among Perrier-Jouët champagnes – a cuvée in which the delicate floral nuances of Chardonnay grapes are complemented by the rich flavors provided by a high proportion of Pinot Noir. Crafted with food in mind, it’s a champagne that can be served from appetizer to dessert.

Avaline Rosé ($24.99) If your mom is vegan, then Avaline is the rosé you’ll want to buy for her. This new, clean and vegan-friendly wine was created by Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power. This French rosé is made with organic grapes, and it’s tagline on the bottle is “Pairs well with the warmth of the sun and the company of your best friends.”

G.H.Mumm Grand Cordon rosé ($52) This classical French rosé champagne is perfect for a Mother’s Day brunch. It lends itself quite well to both food and cocktails, with fruity aromas. A blend of Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir, this brut rosé can be paired with a range of creative dishes.

Bev ($49.99/8-pack) Alix Peabody spent her entire life savings on barrels of rosé to create her canned wine company, Bev. That zero sugar canned wine now has sisters in the lineup, but Peabody’s original rosé remains as popular as ever, and her cans are perfect for the mom who wants to take her wine to the beach or the pool or anywhere, really. “This is the bouquet your mom really asked for,” she says.

The Vice Wine ($22) If your mom prefers her wines to come from biodynamic vineyards, then she’ll love The Vice Wines Pinot Noir 2019 rosé. This single vineyard Pinot Noir rosé is harvested by hand in the Carneros Valley. If your mom really likes rosé, you could also purchase her an entire bundle of pink hued wines or add a few cans to her gift, too, as The Vice Wines offers both.

Ferrari Rosé NV, Trentodoc ($34.99) This Italian rosé is produced by the Lunelli family in Trento, and their winery has been named sparkling wine producer of the year by the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships. “As a business woman in the wine industry, I’ve seen how a shared experience can be the best gift,” says Camilla Lunelli, mother of three children and director of communications for the Lunelli Group, which includes Ferrari Trento. “As a daughter, there’s nothing like watching my mother’s face light up when we make a toast in her honor. As a mother, I cherish those special moments when I get to spend time with my family.”

Mumm Napa ($24) This award-winning sparkling wine is made with grapes from up to 50 different growers within the Napa Valley. Mumm Napa Brut rosé is this winery’s signature rosé, and with vivid berry aromas, this wine makes an amazing kir royale cocktail, which is a great addition to Mother’s Day brunch.

The Blind Horse ($25) The Blind Horse If you want to get one of the newest rosé releases, then get her The Blind Horse rosé. This wine, which is being released this Friday in anticipation of Mother’s Day, is a blend of Grenache and Sangiovese. It’s this winery’s second rosé. Their other rosé, Flirty Birdy, is named for the favorite horse of the original farmers who owned the land where the winery is located. That horse, which was blind, was named Birdy.

Campo Viejo ($14) Cava Brut rosé is made by an all-women team working. Led by chief winemaker Elena Adell, this team crafts fine wines in Rioja wine region. This Spanish sparkling rosé offers balanced flavors with ripe fruit.
