Vermont Business Magazine 14th Star Brewing Company announced it will once again launch its limited-release Forget Me Not beer to raise awareness and funds in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the special brew will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Forget Me Not Kölsch will be packaged and available on store shelves in early June to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s The Longest Day initiative. On and around June 20 — the summer solstice and the day with the most light — thousands across the world will participate in The Longest Day to fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through an activity of their choice. Together, participants will use their creativity and passion to raise funds and awareness to advance Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs.

“A crisp and refreshing beer brewed with locally sourced honey and earthy noble hops — we donate a portion of the proceeds from Forget Me Not to benefit Alzheimer's care, support, and research. Please help us in raising awareness and support for families, like my own, that have been impacted by this devastating disease,” said Prescott Stanton, Director of Brewing Operations.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias, and more than 11 million family and friends are providing care and support. In Vermont alone, there are more than 13,000 people living with Alzheimer’s disease and more than 20,000 family members and friends providing care.

“We are so grateful for 14th Star’s continued commitment in the fight to end Alzheimer’s. The awareness and funds raised during this limited-release helps make an enormous difference to families impacted by this disease right in our own backyard,” said Howard Goodrow, Executive Director for the Alzheimer’s Association Vermont Chapter.

14th Star beer is available in cans and on tap at locations throughout Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York.
